The questions I get asked the most are about Social Security.
- What are my benefits?
- How old do I have to be?
- What are the changes that occur year to year?
- How am I paying for this?
and most often..........
Can I live on Social Security?
I recently ran across a very informative video on the AARP website called aptly enough "Can You Live on Social Security?"
It was written by Social Security Expert, Stan Hinden.
Stan is a long time financial writer and author of How to Retire Happy: The 12 Most Important Decisions You Must Make Before You Retire.
A revised and updated fourth edition was published in January 2013.
Spend a couple of bucks at Amazon for a used copy and use it as a template for your retirement planning.
He has a simple and insightful website you can find at: stanhinden.com
Hopefully, this video will help you with some of your questions.
If you are still looking for more education you can check out my 5 Part Series called "Social Security Benefits Made Easy" from back in July.
Hey, don't put this very important financial subject on the back burner.
If you are a "pre-retirement" Boomer then this is something you need to be planning for right now.
Make sure you understand the system now so you can develop the best financial plan for your future.
It's easy to tell them about it.
Forward it on to them or just email them my blog link at www.survive55.com.
The more Baby Boomers we can help, the better place we make this world !!!
