Well, I have been calmly waiting for the right time and ideas to express my gratitude to my 5 friends and I got the chance to complete my 1st "Pay It Forward" this weekend to my good friend Deborah Brown.
She saw a piece of artwork, a glass statuette of a Kokopelli (I will post a picture on my Facebook page) I had listed for sale on the internet recently and immediately fell in love with it.
I was honored to give it to her as my gift.
Hopefully, she will get as much joy and fulfillment as I did when she in turn "Pays It Forward" to her recipients.
I am also excited to say that I have 3 other "Pay It Forwards" in the works and will be getting in touch with 3 more of my beneficiaries soon.
This is a wonderful program and it feels great to give something to others to make them happy.
I will continue to keep everyone posted on my progress as my "Pay It Forward" continues to come to fruition.
Hopefully everyone involved in this initiative is having as much fun as I am working on the "surprises."

Are you one of those people, like me, who has noticed that everything in this world seems to come in 3’s?
Some great movies like “The Godfather” and “The Matrix” and “Back to the Future” all had two excellent sequels making them stories of 3 parts.
Comedy is funnier in 3’s as proven by “The 3 Stooges”, “The 3 Blind Mice” and every “3 Ring Circus.”
When celebrities die it always seems that 3 die in a short period of time
Men wear 3 piece suits.
When you drink you can get "3 sheets to the wind".
There are 3 feet in a yard and the 3 little kittens all lost their mittens.
We see in 3D.
Our personality is made up of 3 parts: The Id, the Ego and the Super Ego as defined by Freud
The triangle is the strongest of geometric shapes with its 3 sides.
The “Rule of 3” is a principle that suggests that things that come in threes are inherently funnier, more satisfying, or more effective than other numbers of things.
A series of three often creates a progression in which the tension is created, built up, and finally released.
Similarly, adjectives are often grouped in threes to emphasize an idea.
The Latin phrase, "omne trium perfectum" (everything that comes in threes is perfect, or, every set of three is complete) conveys the same idea as the rule of three.
If you remember way back last year, Fervid Friday’s at Survive 55 were created to finish the week with messages that are all about fun; inspiration and motivation (notice the 3 things).
Today, I believe I have a special calling to do to just that.
Today, I am the third part of your “Everything Comes in 3’s.”
“How did that happen" you might ask?
Here’s what it said:
“I'm participating in a pay-it-forward initiative: the first 5 people to comment to this status with "I'm in" will receive a surprise from me in this calendar year. It could be anything from a book, something home-grown or made, or absolutely any surprise.
There will be no warning when it will happen - when the mood comes over me and I find something that I believe will suit you and make you happy...
These "5" people must make the same offer in their Facebook status.
Copy this text onto your profile (don't share) so we can form a web of connection and kindness.
Here's to doing nice and loving things for each other in 2014, without any reason other than to make each other smile and to show that we think of each other.
Here's to an enjoyable, friendly and love-filled year.
Let's make 2014 even more AWESOME!
That, I thought was very cool so I jumped on board !!!
"To help our fellow Baby Boomers enjoy life, be physically, mentally and financially healthier, be up to date on news and global information that affects them and discover new and exciting opportunities in their lives.”
That’s my mission right?
As fate would have it, the very next day (January 30, 2014) after Paul’s Facebook post, while I am doing my “blogging” thing, I come across a wonderful blog site developed and written by Carol Cassara offering “daily inspiration for creating our best lives.”
This particular blog is called:
“Life happens; no excuses.”
“Here’s a scenario: You’ve placed a call to someone who doesn’t call you back for a few days or maybe even longer. When they do, they eat up the first three minutes of the call making excuses for not calling back sooner. “This happened and that happened and then the other happened….”
In my culture we call such excuses a Canzone, a song. All those “reasons” that are really excuses.
Well, here’s a news flash: I don’t care. You’re on the phone now, so let’s have the conversation. All the other stuff? It doesn’t concern me. Why do people make all these excuses for life? Life happens. Move on!
How about the friend who’s always cancelling plans — or can’t make a plan — or they leave you hanging because…and the same routine. “This is going on and that is going on and….” Una Canzone.
Again, I say: So what? I don’t care. Shit happens. It happens to EVERYONE. You’re not the only one with stuff going on. Get over it and move on.
Because here’s the bottom line:
If someone seriously wants to be part of your life, they will seriously make an effort to be in it…
I have to admit that I’ve spent a bit of time in the past hanging around waiting to connect with friends and family who are like this. I made every effort to be understanding. But one day, I realized that I had a lot of stuff going on in my life too, and always made time for people I wanted to spend time with.
The day I realized that people do what they want to do — hell, I do what I want to do– is the day that I freed myself to move on and spend time with people who were available.”
After stumbling across Carol’s blog and reading this particular entry there was no doubt in my mind that this was my “Thing #2”
So these events bring me to today and the realization that "I" am the third part of your “Everything Comes in 3’s.”
1. “Pay It Forward” post by Paul Stanton
2. Carol Cassara’s blog
3. This Survive55 blog
You’ve read this blog so take a few minutes to check out Carol Cassara’s site and read her blog.
Then you need to get on Facebook and become part of the “Pay It Forward” posting started by Paul Stanton.
Look him up or look me up and you will see the posts.
Use the fact that these 3 actions, all coming together on a “Fervid Friday” are a sign to get motivated and become part of something bigger, brighter and better (notice the 3 again?).
I know I am.
Thanks for joining me…………………………
