The other day I was shopping at my favorite store, Goodwill, and buying my favorite things – vinyl record albums.
The young gal behind the counter asked if I was 55 years old.
My first response was that she liked to date older men.
After my brain rewired itself back to being normal, I figured out that she was offering me a discount on my purchases – a significant discount of 25%.
It turns out that every Tuesday is Senior Discount day at Goodwill – "Score!!!.
I did a little national research and even some local Phoenix research and have discovered that if I plan my shopping days right I will never pay full price again.
I highly recommend that all baby boomers do the same and show our squandering, spendthrift, budget-less, wasteful, reckless, careless, wanton government and children how to spend our money wisely.
Below is a list of discount offers from national restaurants, pizza places, FFR's (fast food restaurants – even us elderly folks can create our own social media acronyms) department stores, grocery stores, airlines deals and other retail establishments giving various discounts with differing age requirements. I am amazed to see how many companies have offers and how many of them are smart enough to begin these discounts at the 50+ age level.
It may look like a lot of information at first glace but all you have to do is print off the lists or bookmark this page for future reference.
Hey, let's start with a morning treat.
Dunkin Donuts gives free coffee to people over 55.
Who doesn't like Dunkin?
If I happen by a DD (there's another of those pesky senior acronyms) I'm turning in to grab my free coffee even if it's 100 degrees out.
Heck, it's free.
I've seen people almost kill each other over free T-shirts or mini footballs at sporting events.
A cup of free coffee from DD is much safer.
Now that your free coffee has your blood flowing let's look at those discounts.

I am confident in venturing a guess that almost every Baby Boomer was taught at a very early age that every penny counts. and that these pennies add up.
That's how we roll.
Heck, I still feel like I won the lottery every time I find loose change on the street.
I bend over so fast I almost hurt myself.
And yet, I have seen kids drop handfuls of change and walk away like it is worthless.
Remember, on those days that are not SDD's (Senior Discount Days - you had that acronym figured out right?) you should always use your Groupon, DealChicken and Living Social program discounts.
But that is a blog for another day, right?
Oh, I almost forgot….Here are a few nifty websites for you to check out regarding even more "senior discounts."
Please forward it on to them and feel free to share it everywhere on the social networking sites.
The more Baby Boomer we can help, the better place we will make our world.
